When He Forgives, He Forgets

As a mere mortal, I know I’m limited in all that I can do and very much fallible in my ways.  Knowing this truth has made me to depend so much on God for help, the one who can fight all my battles without lifting a finger. He’s a loving God that does not cast off when I err; He accepts me with all my faults, forgives me and forgets about all I have done through His precious blood.

What a true and faithful God I serve!

"I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds” And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.  Hebrews 10:17-18

Wao! ‘There is no need to offer any more sacrifices’ why? Because He will never remember their sins anymore ‘cause they are forgiven!

Are you a FORGIVER and a FORGETTER’ or you are a NEVER EVER and OVER MY DEAD BODY?

Read this, Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sin against us’ Luke 11:4

Almost everyone I know reads this verse of the Lord’s Prayer and If you don’t, then you must have asked Him to forgive you at some point before you got `Born Again’ or..

The accusers of the adulterous woman will not let her go.. They were saying NEVER EVER, NO, OVER MY DEAD BODY…judging her of her sins.  But the story changed when the Good Master intervened. He asked them a simple question ‘who amongst you has no sin?’ ‘how many times have I forgiven you all?’

At that point, it hit them like a thunderbolt having had a quick search within; turned around and departed.

Don’t say you have forgiven someone when you when you cannot forget what the person has done.  You are not a forgiver if you cannot stand where the person stands or hear the voice of such person. Are you any better? The word of God says;

‘he that thinks he stands let him watch lest he falls’

‘don’t think too highly of yourself but think soberly according to the measure of faith God has given you’

Heb. 10:18b – there is no need to offer anymore sacrifice.. ‘this is very deep!’

Don’t live in the past, don’t hold anyone in their past, don’t relate to them by their past, don’t judge them by their past, don’t make them continually guilty of their past, don’t make them look unto you forever for forgiveness, don’t, don’t …… for old things have passed away, no more sacrifice but a new covenant!

Look at such person as if he or she has never done anything to you. For this is how God sees us when He forgives us, as a new person.

Emotions will play its part but it has no root, it’s only temporary and when it clears you will see yourself as fallible as the one you are judging.

Have you seen it like this?

Forgive  =  sacrifice      – let it go

Forget  =  reward           – it comes back to you in good measure and press down

Have a rethink today and let it go… Heb. 10:16 says `it is a New Covenant’

Our gracious God will give us the grace to be a FORGIVER and a FORGETTER in Jesus name.

Amen.
